My Teaching Philosophy.... I believe that although children learn differently, all children can learn. To ensure that all students do learn, lessons must be taught using all teaching modalities: visual, auditory, and tactile.   All children need to become engaged, and have a safe learning environment.  I believe this can be done by following a constructivist teaching style. Constructivist teaching is based on the belief that learning should build upon knowledge that a student already has, and that learning is more effective when a student is actively involved in the construction of knowledge, rather than when he/she is passively listening to a lecture.  Cooperative groups, manipulatives, and realia are a few examples of how this can be achieved.  Last, but certainly not least, teachers need to work together as a team with parents, and together we can make difference in our children's lives.
