Random Pictures From My Life in Lesotho
The much talked about Ausi Alien (also known as Relobohile).  She's the one who used to be so scared of me that she would cover her head with a bucket when I was around, and now she can't get enough of me.  Cute, huh?
My little princess and my favorite cousin: Ausi Nopi Scanopi and Doug.
I might live as a Masotho, but I am still American through and through.  Eric took me out for a fancy lunch at McDonalds, and I was like a kid on Christmas.
Yes, I have too much time on my hands.  So I made this quilt all by hand.  It is half seshoeshoe (the traditional material) and half fabric-painted with Lesotho momento items.
Eric and me in front of my house in Qacha's Nek.  I am wearing a traditional miner's jacket.
He might be my boss, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it.  Please promise me it won't happen again!
A sangoma (traditional doctor) market selling herbs, roots and other things that I would hesitate to put into my body.
Tim and Sarah wearing Basotho hats with the Moja family, the family who I stayed with during training.
The interior of my old house in Hleoheng.
Mike and Jeremy, fellow volunteers, and me throwing back a few bruskies.
It's all homeade!  I made the mohair cardigan and the beaded seshoeshoe (traditional material) dress by hand!
When Tim came to visit, the kids insisted on riding in the car with him.  They maxed it out...It hink the final tally was 19 kids and Tim.
The view from my new house, the "beach front property."
I'm still a sight for sore eyes.
Freedom Day in Durban, RSA
Sarah, Tim and my different reactions to wildlife warnings.
This is a lion.  A male lion.  He is scary.
