Welcome to

Spam Face

Hi there, it's Jenny here. I know I'm a little difficult to recognise with this can of SPAM in my face, but I've got a lot to be ashamed of, and I sure look much more attractive with the can of SPAM there blocking the view of my dial, don't you think?

If you've visited one of my little places on GeoCities, it's probably because you've received one of my little spams lately directing you to my GeoCities sites. Actually, I've been quite busy for weeks now sending little spams. You see, I don't want to work at a proper job in the touristy sunbelt area in Queensland where I claim to live, so I try to make a little money by spamming for adult sexpal sites, as well as for some other ventures, such as online gambling sites, "surveys", and something called "PC lessons" for people who already knew enough about using a PC in the first place to get my little spams and to visit my little site.

Yahoo! have received quite a few complaints about me spamming for my GeoCities sites. Sometimes they shut my site down, and sometimes they don't do anything about me. But if they shut my little site down, no worries ... because I just put it straight back up on GeoCities, in several different places at once, and send lots of little spams out all over again.

Let me tell you a little about the adult sexpal site that I've been spamming for. Suppose that you visit my little site after I've sent you a spam telling you that I'm looking for a friend, or that I'm your secret admirer, or something else that you'll believe if you also believe in Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy. After you've looked through several pages of utter drivel on my site, I then suggest that you click on a link on the last page to find me. When you hover your cursor over the link and look at the status bar in your browser, you can see the URL that the link sends you to. Do you see how it says www.friendfinder.com?

Ah, but my link doesn't actually send you to www.friendfinder.com. You see, I've falsified the link using the JavaScript onmouseover trick. The actual, hidden URL that my link sends you to is http://adultfriendfinder.com/go/p50923c. You might have thought that I was directing you to a fairly innocuous dating site -- but I'm actually sending you to a sex and swingers personals site. How sleazy a trick is that?

And did you notice the p50923c bit at the end of the hidden URL? That's my affiliate ID. Yes, that's right -- I'm a paid affiliate of that adult sexpal site. And every time someone clicks on that link on my GeoCities site, my affiliate ID is passed to the adult sexpal site, and I get paid a little commission for the click-through. If no-one clicked on that link, I wouldn't get any commission, and there'd be no point me spamming you about my cruddy little GeoCities site in the first place.

Among many other places, you can learn about the honourable business practices of Adultfriendfinder.com and its affiliates here and here (don't forget to check out the Rogues Gallery!).

You see, I'm not actually interested in meeting anyone at all. I just want as many people as possible to click on my falsified link as often as possible to make money for me. That's why I'm constantly sending out my cutesy little spams pretending that I want to be your friend.

If you've had a gutful of hearing from me, you could try complaining to Yahoo! at [email protected]. You'll need to include my little spam with all available headers (even if they could be forged).

Your "friend"

(The author of this page has been a recipient of frequent domain-related spam from the individual who put up not only the multiple jennysplace Yahoo! GeoCities sites jennysplace17, jennysplace18, jennysplace19, jennysplace20, jennysplace21, jennysplace22 and jennysplace23 -- and a number of GeoCities sites with names including the word sweetjenny -- but also other GeoCities sites promoting various money-making schemes. No link falsification or any other deceptive Web tricks have been used on this page, nor on the page showing samples of her spams.)
