Starbuck Scared Silly

	Summary: Third story of the "Fear" series which began with "When Fear 
	Takes Control" by Betty and continued with "Afraid Of The Dark" by 
	Betty & Jen. In this part, we learn what really scares Starbuck.

	Jen dared me to do this, it`s her fault.


	Apollo jumped out of his viper and surveyed the land before him.
	His wing and soul mate, Starbuck, ran up to join him.

	"Sure is a pretty planet," Starbuck commented.

	"Yes it is." Apollo agreed.

	"Looks like a fruit orchard over there." Starbuck noted as he
	pointed towards the hill.

	"Well we were sent here to check it out, so lets go."

	The two men held hands as the made their way towards the fruit
	filled trees, then Apollo suddenly threw his arm around Starbuck`s
	waist and pulled him close, kissing him deeply.

	"What you say we have a little fun under the shade of those trees?"
	Apollo said seductively when they came up for air.

	"Why Captain, are you trying to seduce a junior officer?" Starbuck
	gasp in mock surprise.

	Apollo grinned as he pulled Starbuck into another deep, passionate
	kiss.

	Their kiss however was interrupted buy the sound of cracking.

	"What was that?" Starbuck asked, as he looked to the ground.

	"I`m not sure, maybe the ground is unstaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

	Apollo`s words became a yell as the ground suddenly opened up under
	them and both men went tumbling into a giant hole, landing with a
	thud in an underground cavern. Standing up carefully Apollo looked 
	up at the gaping hole above them.

	"Well, we`re not getting out of here that way."

	"It looks like there`s a light down that direction," Starbuck said.

	"Guess we start walking then, you are okay right?"

	"I`m fine, just a bruised fanny."

	"*Fanny*? Oh that`s funny." Apollo chuckled as he grabbed Starbuck`s
	outstretched hand and pulled him up.

	"My fanny is not funny."

	"No it`s not funny, it`s lovely." Apollo smiled the two started for
	light up ahead of them.

	"Oh are we back to the seduction again?"

	"Yup, I was wondering what you would think of a seduction in a
	cold, dark, dusty tunnel."

	"can we wait until we get back into the sunshine?"

	"Tsk, tsk, Starbuck where is your sense of romance?"

	"Up above ground, in the sunshine."

	"Well, don`t worry, you`ll get your sunshine in just a few centons,
	I do believe that is the opening to this cave."

	"Good, I don`t like this cave, something about it gives me the
	creeps."

	"Creeps? You don`t like things that creep?"

	"As a matter of fact I don`t."

	"And you teased me about the bats."

	"There could be bats in this cave Apollo." Starbuck chuckled.

	"No there isn`t, we would smell them if there were, and this cave
	doesn`t smell like bats, it just smells musty."

	"Bats can be musty." Starbuck tried not to laugh, but it came out
	anyway in the form of a raspberry sound.

	"That`s not funny, you just wait until I find out what your secret
	fear is then I`ll have fun teasing you about it."

	"I don`t have a secret fear, nothing scares me the way bats and
	vampires scare you, oh and did I mention Werewolves?"

	"Stop rubbing it in, besides it`s not my fault, my grandfather
	should have known better than to take a small child to see a thriller
	movie."

	Starbuck started singing. "Cause this is thriller, thriller night,
	and I can hold you..."

	"Stop that."

	"Okay.....party pooper."

	"Why don`t we just get out of this cave and back into the sunshine
	so I can rape you."

	"Can`t rape the willing."

	Apollo just sniggered at that remark.

	They were almost to the cave opening when Starbuck suddenly felt a
	slight tickling feeling on the back of his hand and brought it up
	to his face for closer look.

	There on his hand, covering his entire hand, was the biggest bug he
	had ever seen in his life.

	"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! GET IT OFF ME!" The blond man screamed as he ran 
	for the sunlight just up ahead. Pushing past Apollo and knocking the 
	captain onto his ass.

	"Starbuck what`s wrong with you?" Apollo`s question was unheard by
	the other man.

	Getting up, Apollo brushed him self off and ran to catch up with
	the other man,  he could still hear screaming. Outside the cave he
	saw Starbuck, jumping up and down, still screaming to get them off.

	Apollo just stood in one spot and stared in disbelief. Starbuck`s 
	back, arms and legs, were completely covered in big, black bugs. They 
	were the size of a man`s hand and reminded Apollo of cockroaches.

	Shaking himself, Apollo looked down at his own body and saw that he
	too was covered with these huge bugs. There was a small pond only a
	few feet from where they were standing. Thinking fast Apollo ran to
	Starbuck and grabbed his arm.

	"Come on, lets get in the water."

	"GET THEM OFF ME, GET THEM OFF ME!"  Starbuck kept on screaming.
	Then he saw the bugs on Apollo and screamed louder.

	"*AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH BUGS, BUGS, BUGS, YOUR COVERED IN BUGS, DON`T
	TOUCH ME DON`T TOUCH ME YOUR COVERED IN BUGS!*" and then ran for
	the pond, jumping in as fast as he could.

	"I`m going to have lots of fun with this." Apollo chuckled loudly as
	he followed Starbuck into the pond and ducked down into the water. 
	Soon there were bugs floating along the water and Starbuck was 
	screaming once more.

	"AAAAAHHHHH, THEY WON`T LET US OUT, THEIR GONNA BITE US AND EAT US
	FOR DINNER!"

	"I don`t think they bite Starbuck or they would have done it before
	we even made it to the water, especially with the way you were
	acting." Apollo laughed.

	"Stop laughing at me, it`s not funny."

	"Oh and my fear of bats is."

	"That`s different, bats are cute, bugs aren`t, a lot of people are
	afraid of bugs."

	"A lot of people are afraid of bats."

	"Yeah but they know you won`t get turned into a vampire if they
	bite you."

	"Very few bugs eat people."

	"There are bugs out there that eat meat."

	"I didn`t say there weren`t any, I said very few, and most eat dead
	animals, not live humans."

	"These are big, huge bugs, they wouldn`t care if we dead or alive,
	they wanted to eat us."

	"I give up." Apollo said as he threw up his hands and walked out of
	the pond.

	"*There have been cases where bugs ate live animals, ants will do
	that, they go for the eyes first*."

	"Get out of the water lieutenant we have work to do."

	"Does this mean the seduction is off?"

	Apollo just stared at Starbuck, unable to believe what he had just
	heard.
