So you've chosen to write a dialogue. What exactly is a dialogue? It's a conversation that happens between two or more people.
Here's an example of part of the dialogue that I wrote between The Rough Faced Girl and Cinderella:

Cinderella: Good afternoon madame. How do you do?
RFG: I'm fine beautiful woman. Are you also well?
Cinderella: My name is Cinderella-- I'm from France!
RFG: My family calls me Rough Faced Girl. I live on the great plains.
Cinderella: Why on earth would they call you Rough Face Girl? Your skin is so smooth and beautiful!
RFG: Oh no--it wasn't always so beautiful. Just a short time ago I spent all my time hunched over a fire. The flames and ashes would pop and crackle-- it nearly ruined my face forever.
Cinderella: It sounds like we have a few things in common--tell me more about your life...
