She was described by a daughter to have always been "very stout, weighing 250 Lbs or more". She was skilled in Spencerian penmanship, being able to draw "the birds and curved figures to perfection". Some of her children and grandchildren seemed to have inherited her artistic ability and have put it to various uses. (Example: Morrison Jackson had unusual drawing ability. He earned money in the 1930s as a sign painter - I (Jimmy Lamb) remember knowing that he painted some of the signs for Wesley Lamb's skating rink as well as other signs in the Paola, Kansas area.
