Judge Jackson DESKINS

Farmer in 1880,elected county judge in 1883 and had four marriages, 23 children. Per Gertrude Deskins Ratliff Jackson lies buried at Phillips Cemetery on John's Creek at old George Phillip's homeplace. J.B. Deskins preached his funeral.

Could be John "Deskings" or "Deskins" or "Duskin" as found in other documents. John Deskins is seen in 1820 Floyd County, KY census (age 16-26 years). marriage records - Rebecca Holt married John Duskin in Floyd County, KY, July 30, 1819. John and Rebecca lived on the Kentucky side of Tug River, opposite of what was later Borderland. John was the first coal operator of Pike County. Before the railroad was constructed in 1894, he built heavy wooden boats into which he loaded coal and floated the boats down river to market at Cattletsburg, Kentucky.
