Dr. J. Zapawa is a decorated Persian Gulf War veteran who attended Wayne State University following his service in the U.S. Army. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology in 1996 and a medical degree in 2000. Dr. Zapawa is currently in his senior year of the diagnostic radiology residency program at Oakwood Hospital.
