This web resource has been created by Jenny Green in January 2001 as part of the requirements for assignment 1 in modules JN3300 (Researching, Reporting and Writing for Online Production) and JN4022 (Online Design and Production)which constitute part of the MA in Online Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire. It is supplemented by a hard copy log detailing journalistic processes and activities, a paper report on the design and production process and a style guide.

Users are offered an insight into the functioning of the various sites by a test search run about the Paddington Rail Crash of October 1999.Telephone interviews were also conducted with representatives from most of the news websites included.Much of the information appears in an easily interpreted tabular format owing to its comparative nature.
