The lights at Harding University

The local gardening club decorated the campus of Harding University

The welcome sign all dressed up with wreathes. In the background you can see the lights that cascaded from all the trees. From a distance they look blue, but they're actually white.

All the sign posts were dressed with greenery and bows

One of the several wreathes on the campus buildings

Here you can see that the lights are more white than blue

The building in the background didn't have any lights on it, but it looked lit up from all the other lights. You could see these lights from one of the main streets about a block or so from the campus.

The clock in the middle of the 'quad' area we strolled through. Ok, I say strolled, I strolled, Adam sped walked and Rick strolled reluctantly because I was walking so slowly (mainly because I was in pain).

The fountain wasn't dressed up, but it was still pretty

The Courthouse

The courthouse looks rather gingerbread-house ish at night.

Our second tree

Our first tree was a cedar we cut down ourselves. Well, turns out I'm not only allergic to pine, but to cedar as well. And so is Adam. Last year he was stuffy and coughing while he was with us, but shortly after we got to Rick's parent's (where Adam lives right now) he was fine. So the Saturday after Christmas, Rick's mom and I picked up an artificial tree on clearance. We paid about $27 for a $75 pre-lit 6 or 7 foot tree, and neither Adam nor I were stuffy.

I never did really finish decorating the tree. Starting the Monday after Thanksgiving my arthritis flared up badly and by Christmas I was in so much pain I couldn't really do anything for too long a period of time. So I'd add a few ornaments, then stop, then go back and add a few more ornaments. The day after Christmas I still had a couple of small boxes of ornaments left to go up.

It's skinny-ish, but it looks a lot less thin than last year's tree. No topper because we didn't have one. Rick had the great idea of using the Angel Barbie doll I got, but she was too top heavy and ended up with her head pointing towards the floor. It was a good idea though, and I was actually rather surprised that Rick came up with it.

I picked up a bunch of ornaments on clearance after Christmas last year, and at a couple of  yard sales during the spring. The mitten was clearnce, so was the snowman and the little pillow on the lower left. The plaid and spool  angel and the little pewter angel came from one of the yard sales. The frog was an impulse purchase at a WalGreens, it's actually supposed to be a key chain. The big furry face is a Lunakit, made for us by a friend.

WalGreen's had these cute little Ty Beanie ornaments on sale so we picked up three of them. Two ended up on the tree, one had an awkward hanger that needed to be replaced. Never got around to replacing it, so it just sat near the TV.

My froggies! The left is a key chain and actually 'sings' Jingle Bells. The right was on a mug that Rick got me.

Here's some random shots of the ornaments on the tree:
