My Sanderson/Saunderson line came from Bacup Lancashire I have Samuel born c1780.
Wife ? His son John was my GG Grandfather.
John came to Australia on the Lady Nugent arriving in 1835. He was in the Maitland area before being sent to Tasmania. He married Sarah Westall who died after 3 months. Then remarried around 1854 Sarah Pricillia nee Harris  born c 1831 Hobart, late Read. My great Grandfather George Sanderson was born near the Doughlas River on the 27th March 1857. On leaving the east coasr of Tasmania they moved to New Castle. George married Sarah Pugh daughter of Thomas Pugh and Hannah Miles on the 4th May 1878. George came to Broken Hill in 1896 and he worked as a foreman on the BHP mine.
Sarah Sanderson died in BH on the 13th March 1907.
My grandfather Samuel Sanderson was born in New Castle on the 21st September 1888.
He married in Broken Hill Clara Maud Palin on 1910.
My mother Ruby Jean was born 10 February 1911.
Ruby Jean married my dad James Jenkins in 1947 after the Second World War.
Jim had two daughter Myself and Roslyn. Mum was married twice having four other children. Dawn, Barry  and Barbara Samson and Beryl Sanderson.
Other members of the Sanderson line born in Tasmainia are Mary Sanderson who married Joseph Horsfield
Samuel Sanderson who married Mary Martin and Mary Blakeway and Charles never married.
The Broken Hill families are John, Margaret,George Thomas,Mary Pricilla, William,Ruby, Charles Roy and Arthur Stanley Sanderson all of Broken Hill.
John Sanderson was born around 1805 near Bacup Lancashire England. He committed a crime of highway robbery and was sentanced at the Lancaster Assizes on the 3rd March 1834. He robbed William Tatham of six shillings and sixpence and a handkercheif at Ashton-Underline, Lancashire. He was 26 years old. He married Martha Clough at Manchester on the 30th October 1826  and had a son John. Who was born on the 13th July 1834 a few months after  his father was sent out to Australia. John  was the son of Samuel Sanderson and had one known brother George who was married to Jenny Buckley. On his arrival in Australia he was working at Maitalnd NSW and committed another crime before being sent to Tasmania. He married  Sarah Westal and after three months he became a widow. His wife Martha still living in England. He later was pardoned and married Sarah Pricilla Harris. Sarah had been married to a convict Samuel Read and they parted. There is no record to be found of John's marriage to Sarah Harries/Read. My Great Grandfather George Sanderson was born in Tasmania in 1857 and later the family moved to New Castle NSW. John and Sarah are both buried in New Lampton. George came to Broken Hill and became a foreman on the BHP mine and was involved with the 1909 strike. He was labeled a scab.
The Convict John Sanderson left England 1934 leaving behind a wife a son. John Sanderson born at Bacup 1934  I have since found John married Sarah Crabtree and they had a son Ormerod born 1857 lived at the Flowers Inn Todmorden road Bacup in 1879
