Evolution - the key to a champion pokemon

Evolution - the key to a stronger pokemon , and also , to fill up your pokedex ..... can be done in 3 ways

Experience :

Some Pokemon evolve when you spend hours battling 'em with trainers and wild pokemon , letting them gain EXP until they reach a certain stage ...majority of pokemon evolved through this way..... this method has a certain weak point though ..... as many evloved pokemon learn techniques slower then their unevolved forms . The clearest example is charmander ( one of the starter pokemon ) . He learns Flame thrower

( a powerful fire attack) at lvl 38 while his third - stage evolution - Charizard , at lvl 46 .... so ..... check out that difference ! * smile * ...... well ..... you can always prevent a pokemon from evolving by hitting the " B " button ..... and until it learns its skill ..... you can finally evolve a pokemon the way up to its third stage evolution ........ ( p/s : I 'd never try it myself )

Elemental Stones :

Fire / water / leaf / thunder / and moon stones ...... each have different impact on certain kind of pokemon .... this is the most interesting , but dangerous form of evolution ( to me )...... because when evolved , these kind of pokemon tend to lose their ability in learning techniques

( although they have better stats ) , so , be careful with the use of stones ....

Note : For majority of the pokemon using elemental stones for evolution ..... it is adviced to make sure you let them learn every attack you want 'em too before using the stone , except for Eevees 3 evolution forms .... who learn their basic attacks .... like thundershock for Jolteon , Water gun for Vaporeon and ember for Flareon at level 31 ( refering to red and blue version ) . For Eevees .... to my opinion ..... it is best to evolve them right away after getting them from the Celedon mansion

Stones and usage :

There are 16 pokemon that can be obtain through stones , and you can't get 'em elsewhere ( except for Raichus in the red and blue version ) . I take the trouble to list 'em all out for your convenience * smile *

Thunder Stone ( for electric pokemon )

Trading

Only four pokemon Evolve through trading with friends . Unlike pokemon that evolve with stones .... they can still continue to learn powerful techniques ..... at the same level ....... so , you are advice to do the trading with your friends as soon as you can * smile *

Kadabra to Alakazam ( If you get an Abra .... train it * very though job* up to lvl 16 to get a Kadabra )

Graveler to Golem ( If you get a Geodude ..... train it up to lvl 25 to get a Graveler )

Haunter to Gengar ( If you get a Gastly ..... train it up to lvl 28 to get a Haunter )

Machoke to Machamp ( If you get a Machop ..... train it up to lvl 28 to get a Manchoke )

what about HMS ?

HM01 - Cut

Meet the captain of S.S Anne after you defeated Gary

HM02 - Fly

In Celedon city .... walk right up to the road where Sonrlax block ..... Cut down a tree there .... and enter a secret house .... A girl would offer you HM02 as long as you don't tell people her secret hideout * smile * 

HM03 - Surf

The HM which has the most damage points , and also the hardest to get your hand on . You'd have to cycle to the Treasure house in Safari Zone , and talk to the safari guard there . Not an easy task to get your hands on it in 500 steps * phew *

HM04 - Strength

Get Slowpoke , the safari Warden's Gold teeth in Safari Zone ..... and he will thank you by giving you HM04 * smile * .... Push the bolder in his house and you'd get a rare candy

HM05 - Flash

Useless but pricey to get ( If you don't have 10 kinds of Pokemon by that time ..... you have to purposely catch some ) ...... The deal is .....you must catch at least 10 or more kinds of Pokemon , and talk to Professor Oak's Aide by crossing Digletts cave .....

USING 'em EFFECTIVELY ...

With the exception of the few TMS that can be purchaced in the celedon city department store ( 9 to be presise ) , other TMS exist only one copy each in a game.... so , think and use them carefully ....

Golden rules ...

* Check out that a pokemon wouldn't learn the skill you are going to give them by TM later on

* Check out the Special and Attack score .... to make sure the TMS can have it's maximum performance . Some Pokemon are better off with special attacks ( Fire / Ice / Water / Electric / Psychic / Grass ) , others are better off with Normal or Fighting techniques

* It's nice to teach a move to its own kind .... to cut it short ....say , an electric move like Thunder ... to Magneton , an electric Pokemon who never actually learns any electric moves then Thundershock and Tthunderwave ..... as they get 50% bonu by using an attack of their kind

Hmmm.... For HM , it's a different story .... one HM can teach it's skills to as many Pokemon you want .... but they can never forget it ..... and learn it for life ..... So , I'd suggest you teach a pokemon that you wouldn't want to use in long run useless HMS like flash .... and another thing ..... you can't put your Pokemon into the daycare center as they wouldn't accept Pokemon with HM moves ....

POKEMON STATS AND BATTLE CONDITIONS

Stats ......... what does it means ?

Well .......this site is mainly for starters in the game ......... but like all my other pages ......... experts will benefit from it too * smile * ........... To start off ......... just open the game , choose any pokemon and press the " stats " button ........ to view a pokemon " Biodata "......... Well ....... get ready as I am going to brag about some important stuffs ............

HP ( Hit Points ) .......... This is the ammount of damage that your pokemon can take before it faints..... obviously the more the better ...... but it must couple with a good defense to make a good impact ....... Chansey is the pokemon with the most HP , but with a dismally low Defense and Special score make Chansey a one - hit - k.o by most pokemon

ATTACK .......... this stats effects Normal / Fighting / Flying / Poison / Ground / Rock / Bug & Ghost techniques ......... so ......... if your pokemon are made up of these categories ..... you much ensure that his attack score is high

SPECIAL ........ This important statistics determines how much damage you do with special attacks ( Fire , Water , Ice , Grass , Lighning , Psychic ) and how much damage you'd recieve from your opponents special attacks .... Well ..... to cut the ice between Attack and special .... here's and example ..... Hitmonchan may look like a great Pokemon with great Stuffs ( like Fire / Thunder / and Ice Punch ) ..... but sadly he is so low in special . A Hitmonchan is better off taught with Fighting attacks through TMS

DEFENSE.........This is more important then HP , but beware ....... a high defense wouldn't protect a pokemon against special attacks ....... especially the ones that have advantage over it

SPEED ....... It is more important then you might think .......... Pokemon that have terrible defense ...... but lightning speed ...... like Electrode can survive battles by ensuring they always go first ...... and K.O enemies before they even get a chance to fight back . I never tried this ..... but if you switch Pokemon in mid battle ....... a real, speedy Pokemon might be able to do the trick of attacking at the same turn ( though most pokemon don't have a chance )

Conditions

In battle .......weather it is with wild pokemon or other trainers , your poor pokemon will meet some of these situation ...... and some forces you to switch 'em ........ Get to a pokecenter as fast as you can for a complete healing ......Oh ya , Cheer up ..... these situations also enable you to catch wild Pokemons ..... easier ..... ain't that bad right ? * smile *

POISONED ..... Loses HP every turn in battle , and every 4 steps out of battle

SLEEP ..... If you're lucky ...... and your enemy's " charm " isn't strong enough ...... your pokemon will wake up naturally in a few turns and be ready to fight ( if it survives the attacks ) ..... Quite dangerous before you get your hands on the poke - flute ......unless you want to spent out on Awakenings ..... I've been in a situation where all my pokemon are knocked down by a gambler bellsprout's sleeppowder ! * smile *

PARALYZE

A Pokemon skills fail 50%of the time , and it's speed is greatly reduced .....

BURN

Loses HP every turn in battle , but not outside . Reduces attack

FREEZE

Cannot attack ..... unfreeze if hit by fire , or at end of battle

CONFUCE

Will attack self 50% each time . Clears up when you switch Pokemon .... an annoying situation you'd face in the Pokemon Tower with all the gastly and haunters * smile *

FLINCHED

If a pokemon flinched before it attacks .... It can't attack this turn

FAINTED OR K.O

Your Pokemon can't be used in battle until revived

Notice that 4 categories ? yes .......... ATTACK / DEFENSE / SPEED / SPECIAL ....... and would like to know a bit abour Malaysia , well , it's a lovely country with lovely sights but a boring place without 4 seasons :( . Anyway , it's here I live in Kuala Terengganu...... the capital of Terengganu . Okay , now yes .......a little idea for those who never heard of Malaysia and Terengganu is ...... it is roughly at the " star " area of the picture ..... yes , facing the south china sea .

It's sad that my current homepage that was made for me by my cousin was erased by somebody . I just got very mad about it , so . bit by bit I had to start redoing my homepage and it is quite a though job . Putting the links together , designing , all sorts of job to do so , with this tough job , I hope you'll enjoy my page.......... this is a short description of my family members ....

MY FATHER

Haaha ....... now he's a real fish - maniac , the picpage will give you a little clue :) . well , I think the reason is our house is nearby the sea and he has nothing much to do since he retired :) He is not only interested in fishing , but also the fishing gear . In his rooms are thousands of them ...... Fishing rod ...... hooks ...... weights..... magazine ....... lines ...... . anyway .... In fact ...... his " treasure " is enough for him to start a mini tackle shop ...... you'll never finish using his rodes and rails :))))). anyway ....... here's a little secret . I'll get a hang of his room picture one day and let you be the judge ..... okay :) He has lot's of malay fisherman friends around and recently as a fishing clubhouse was built near the sea ....... he spends longer time at the seaside! ahh...... :) yes ...... fishing is also a practical hobby for him . Why ? because he loves fish .... wether is steamed or fried :) His other hobby is in songbird ....... but now he doesn't enter competitions ...... our house is full of medals of which he won in bird contests years ago . hmmm.......... maybe I'll get a hang of their pic too on day

MY MOTHER

Now ...... you might just wonder how a preety young lady <years ago I mean :)>from Sarawak met my father from Terengganu . Ahh ..... yes ....... now Sarawak .......In case you're a visitor who never heard of Malaysia again .......... it is at the the big piece of land , east of the map , saperated from  Terengganu by the south china sea . So you see :) It's a secret that I myself even don't know :) oh yes , see the borganvillas on the picpage ? that is one of my mother's masterpiece . Now my house is the easiest to sport around the neighbourhood :) because it's covered with a jungle of flowers .Roses , Orchids , Borganvillas ......She retired very young so she has plenty of time to spent with her darling flowers . My mother's character is stern , but easy to love . ......

MY SISTER AND BROTHER IN LAW

Well ......... this year - year 2001 is a good year for my sis ....... I would really like to congratulate her because after 10 years plus trying for a baby and a one time miscarraidge ..... she finally adchieved her dreams :) Right know when I am constructing this page ..... she is pregnant for 6 month plus :) She works as and accountant at Summerset resort at this moment ( it is hard to keep track on her company cuz she changes a lot since she worked ) .I'm real proud of becoming an aunt .Well ..... little Aaron is due this May so I pray for an easy birth for my sis . oh yes , again , if i get a hang of a digi or a scanner...... remind me about Aaron's pic :)

My brother in law is an engineer an is very good in physics and add maths ........ now I really salute him when he gives me lessons . He was a great help during my SPM exams as I was quite poor in these two subjects .

MY BROTHER AND SIS IN LAW

My brother is a computer genious . Though he is not really keen in study , he has a "hand of gold". He can fix things really well ....... ranging from computer to radios to cassatte recorder <p/s : this is because he love to " bisep " stuffs when he was young :) you can see him dismantelling radios and phones ..... once .... he even dismatelled the organ ! :) > He owns a big shop in K.L named Pc Sentry . Well ..... I would just like to say a big thank you for his digi or else I wouldn't be able to set up my picpage . His biggest sucess is his self invented home alarm system . Tell you what ...... he recently came back and has another .... more improved digi ..... but the sad thing is this digi runs with a special floopy disk and recquires some sort of decoder ...... I'm not quite sure about that ......so .... sign ...... no chance for up - to - date photos .

My sis in law is really preety .. <care to look at the picpage to see wether I am right :)>.... and I always dream to be like her ( honest ) . She has this set of perfume miniature which I really go nuts about :( She is a housewife and leads an easy life .....she rears a pair of hamster ...... and recently has an astro too
