One of the most exciting projects that I did for my wedding were my shoes. I really wanted something comfortable and appropriate fro the summer, so I decided that the girls and I would wear flip flops.

I purchased white flip flops from Havaianas. This brand of flip flops is the most comfortable that I have found to date. To dress them up a little and make them wedding appropriate, I decided to glue crystals on the straps in a blue that matched the girls dresses. To apply the crystals I used the glue that came in the crystal and bead kit from Designer Trends by Tami, a vendor on eBay. It is a stronger glue and I felt that it would be more durable on the shoes than the Jewel-it Glue from JoAnns. I decided to do three rows on crystals on the straps. After working on the shoes for a while, I found that it was easier to spread the glue on the straps with a Popsicle stick and then place the crystals into the glue. The glue does dry fast so it is recommended to work in small sections. I purchased one set, which contains 144 crystals, of 12ss size crystals from Tami.

I thought that this would take a lot longer than it did, but I had both shoes done within 3 hours. Just make sure that you work in a well ventilated area!
