I wanted to find a unique way of asking my bridesmaids to be in our wedding. I didnt want to call them or ask them in person, as I am sure that most people do. I decided to make them all cards and mailed them to the girls.

I made each of these cards for my maid of honor (my sister), my three bridesmaids and my flower girl. When I made these cards, it was before I really started making cards. I just dabbled before so they arent as good as what I would have made for them today. When I made these cards (for all of them) I used a package from Michaels that contained pastel colored cards and envelopes. The size of the cards was around a 5x7. The front of the card I decorated with mulberry paper hearts and accented with a bridesmaid dress sticker and also flower stamps. For the top of the cards I printed out their names on the computer and then traced it onto the card front. To fill in the names, I went for glitter, in a color that coordinated with the color of the card that I made for them. I am such of fan of glitter and sparkles and it is a trend that you will see often in my projects.

I spent a lot of time looking for just the right thing to put on the inside of the cards instead of just putting Will you be my bridesmaid? I found some great ideas on various web sites, but the one that proved to be the most beneficial, and where I got a lot of information from, was from Long Island Weddings.com This site came up when I did a search for bridesmaids invitations. Posted on this site was the following poem that I used for my cards:

Its hard to believe
That is just a little while
Tony and I will be walking
Down the aisle
And nothing would give me
More joy and pride
Than to have you there
By my side
Will you be my bridesmaid?

As a little touch on the back of the card, I found some great funky shoe stickers, I believe at Michaels, that I stuck on the back lower left of the card with the saying:

P.S. I promise not to make
you wear ugly shoes!
