WHY WE REMEMBER
All the soldiers, laying down flat
On top of their heads, a red and black hat
I lay admist them, staring ahead
Nothing to view but the gruesome dead
There are shouts all around me, I try to speak
But no one can hear me, for my voice is too weak
I know this is it, the last I should see
For death is my hardship, death is shall be
I wish them to place on my grave a dove
So everyone can remember that I died for love
Love for the children who need better lives
And love for the children who just need to survive
