We read from day to day.
Well, I am here to tell you
That saying is just not so...
For my happily ever after
Started some time ago.
My happily ever after
Began one wintry night...
It was cold, and dark, and lonely,
You were warm, and soft, and bright.
You touched me very deeply,
You reached way down inside...
And you found what no one else
Had looked hard enough to find.
I don't know the exact moment,
I can't define the exact time...
But somewhere along our journey,
Happily ever after became mine.
Somewhere along our journey
You became that missing link...
The part that I had needed
To make my life complete.
And so today when someone says
That saying is just not so...
I smile and say with certainty
Mine started sometime ago.
