Jennifer MacNeill was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in the small shore line community of
Old Lyme, Connecticut where she attended Old Lyme high school. Gifted with a lyrical style,
it was here that Jennifer had her first poem professionally published
at the age of fourteen. There was a time when she dabbled in the Performance Arts, gearing
herself towards a career on the stage, but growing up against the back-drop of the former artist colony
instilled in her
a sense of beauty and a unique way of looking at the world which surrounds her. One that could only
be captured by brush and canvas. Vibrant colors are
part of her unique trade mark in the oil medium.
Drawing upon the images which surround her, Jennifer captures their essence with bold expressionist
color and adds an ethereal flare through her use of light and shadow. There are no prints or reproductions
available on this site, all works are original. Jennifer still writes poetry, prose and short stories. In keeping with her bohemian lifestyle and love of learning Jennifer's philsophy is that we are all Students and Teachers throughout our lives. When she isn't busy working on her new masterpiece, Jennifer works part-time as a waitress at a fine Mystic, CT restuarant. She is a single mother who now resides in New London, Connecticut with her son Kyle.
