225 year old America is comprised of headstrong, innovative, pioneering and industrious people, who for the most part, really hate being told what to Americans bought into the politically correct(PC) mantra because they were afraid of being sued for being caught behaving in a manner that someone might deem politically incorrect (unPC). It was an economic necessity that forced the new train of thought-- not a change of heart on most social issues.
Anyone and everyone was and could be a PC police �person�. There were no badges issued or deputization needed. America was told it was a civic responsibility to point out or report or sue the tar out of anyone who was found to be unPC.
Laws were inacted to protect those wronged by offensive speech, even though we are all supposed to have Freedom of Speech. It is quite awful that people say offensive things, but, short of malicious and slanderous things, it is nearly impossible to litigate against those who have potty mouth.
But the PC police were up to the task, especially since they convinced everyone in cooperate America that they had to comply OR ELSE. Manuals were written and issued to Department heads listing the CODE WORDS that were considered BAD and, of course, all the consequences that would be levied against anyone who used �those words�.
�Sensitivity� trainings were scheduled and attendance to them was manditory and thus began the TERRORISM of TOLERANCE.
The concept of tolerance used to mean that we were supposed to respect the idea that some people did things differently or perhaps were different. Now we are expected to to not only respect the difference but to accept that the difference is ALWAYS correct and/or normal in behavior. We used to have the right to disagree with people who had a differing opinion. We are no longer allowed to verbalize an opposing opinion. We used to have the right to believe according to our OWN system of thought comprised of what we have been taught through our culture, ethics or religion. We have given that right away. We may have squandered it for the generations to come.
What�s wrong with a little sensitivity and having a little tolerance?? Nothing at all! But what has happened is that those very PC police who rammed down the sensivity training down America�s throats now refuse to practice what they preach. The PC police have become the most INTOLERANT people on the planet - intolerant of religion, intolerant of free speech, intolerant of ideas, intolerant of people who are not like them.
