Chapter Fourteen:Fool's Gold

"...and to honor him they gave him his weight in glitz and glitter"

During the 1992 Campaign, Bill Clinton presented himself as a living sacrifice for America. Everything he had done, learned and said had all happened as preparation for his being President of the United States. Born in Hope, predestined to be Arkansas's favorite son, this man had set his own personal desires aside to allow for life to groom him for service to his nation.

That was the campaign line and they stuck to it even after the truth came out. People go into public service for what title they will bear, for who they will be or for what they can contribute. Bill Clinton wanted to be somebody. It would not be nobility he had set his life's course out to achieve but rather, celebrity.

Brought up in an abusive, unstable environment(as set forth by most biographers) he would seek constant affirmation and validation for his personal actions and thoughts. And, as insecurities love company, Bill and Hillary Clinton set their Presidential sights on the Hollywood establishment, rather than the Intellectual. They wasted time with frivolous people who had no semblance of a capacity to understand our country's needs and what would be best for it's people.

Celebrities became a pantry staple for the Congress of our great land. Stars were deemed eligible to testify before our esteemed leaders if he/she had acted in a movie that that had dealt with a specific subject matter. "Acting" as if they truly cared about the plight of the subject made them the end-all authorities for our day.

I disdainfully remember the day I heard Barbara Streisand feebly attempt to present and defend the national and foreign policies of the Clinton Adminstration. She had been sent forth as a new-washington -age ambassador for the President, but she had no business being there, she was so ill prepared.

I had her entire collection of music. My friends often gifted me her music, they knew I loved it. But I hated her politics and it spoiled her music. I could not listen to her without recalling what a fool she made of herself to align with the Clintons. I threw all her music out and have no desire to to collect it again. She, nor any of the Hollywood elites, had any business strong arming thier ridiculous views on the governing body that will dictate how the rest of us will live.

The Hollywood Liberal elite are a small minority with huge amounts of money with which to get their messages across.

When I was working at the Alice Public Library, I received an urgent plea for help from Levar Burton because the federal government was considering cutting back funding for Public Broadcast Television, arguing that it should be funded by the "public", who choose to partake of such programming and should therefore pay for it.

Levar Burton's PBS project is "Reading Rainbow", a program that introduces children to a diversity of children's books by a diversity of authors. Mr. Burton suggested that, in the interest of literacy, we should all be willing to contact our representatives to urge them to continue with the funding of programming like his.

I wrote back to him and let him know that programming like his Reading Rainbow was absorbing way too much public money that could possibly be better utilized within a local sector. I was operating our literacy outreach program to a population of 27,000 with a budget of less a $1000.00 per year for a reading program that my community's children could attend locally; where they could physically take books to read for themselves- if our library could afford to have them.

I found it obscene that Mr. Burton did not understand that he and his show which touched a small amount of children for a half hour every now and then were no where near as important to the education of America's children as what Teachers and Librarians across our country were sacrificially accomplishing on a full-time basis.

None of us had Mr. Burton's salary or his budget.

I do make it a point of watching movies with our children. They've grown past the age of the "G-rated" shows, so now we get to watch the more grown up shows up to PG-13.

I have been astounded by the amount of sex and violence that the Hollywood gang has produced, but moreover, by the amount of explosions within so many of the movies.

These folks insist that the environment is of paramount importance and that everyone in our society needs to do their part towards helping to slow our planet's course towards a doomsday scenario in which the consequences of our evil, selfish, ignorant, unaware and uncaring methods of overbreeding, tree-masacring, water polluting, oil drilling, air polluting, ozone depleting, capitalist loving, barbecuing, grass cutting lives will destroy our Mother Earth.

Where do they think the debris ends up from all the explosions they film for their movies? Have they the arrogance to suggest that their bombs are cleaner and safer that any one else's incendiary devices? We are not allowed, under their rules, to risk life and limb for a Patriotic cause but they can do a Take Two on an explosion or tearing down of a building if they didn't get their shot just right. They can blow up patches of land and buildings and let all that debris pollute the environment (they add to landfill problems with the creation of so much trash too) and they can risk life and limb of people and animals (they are extremely careful about the animals though- unless they need blood to throw on a fur wearer)but they are noble in their tasks. They are entertainers! We NEED them!

These folks also seem to have risen to such a high level of conciousness and this altitude they live in allows them a clearer perspective of humanity than anyone else has.

They see our society's "have-nots" and compared to them we are so vast in number. They want to help, but don't see it necessary to simply reach into their deep pockets to eliviate others, they prefer to use their celebrity status to call attention to a problem; to point at it and then let others take care of it.

They point to hunger, homelessness and the suffering of children on our homeland, while they construct multi-million dollar sets for the filming of each movie on with enough material and furnishings to supply housing for countless families in need.

They host each other at awards ceremonied where they wear the most elaboratly ornate and expensive clothing and jewelry. They are however, mindful to wear ribbons on their lapels to, even in these nights of celebratory splendor, point to their various ills in our society.

After the film and after the awards ceremony, their expensive clothes and their expensive sets go into storage. Perhaps it is much too fine to be given to the homeless or donated to shelters. They just point

Plain, simple hypocrisy.

They take so much from our society and for insanely little.

And, they have no comprehension of how their behavior, their movies or their music affect the American Culture. They can promote the most heinous of activities and insist they have the right to constantly push the envelope as is their right under the First Amendment. They show contempt for most of the rest of this document our nation is founded on- but fervently stand by or rather behind, the First Amendment.

Why did America let the COURT JESTERS take over the kingdom?

At its simplest, the Intellectual Community forfeited their authority and right to mold American society as they, time and again, set forth ridiculous propostions offered in the guise of intellectual thought:

The Lawyers mangled the spirit of the law.

The Doctors mangled their Hypocratic Oath for the collection of extra money in an aligned effort with the insurance companies.

The Scientists embraced theories and set them forth as facts in a feeble-minded attempt to understand how our world was created, and in some ways, to gain control of the universe.

Our universities were utilized in the conduction of a grand social experiment in POLITICAL CORRECTNESS which ultimately obscured the gathering of higher thoughts to that of self-preservation in a hostile environment.

The Feminist upper echelons attempted to rewrite history, eradicating the participation and contribution of the patriarchal members of our society in the founding of this country.

Even the religious leaders among us lost their credibilty by living by a "do as I say.. not as I do" creed.

Bill Clinton's tenure in the White House was orchestrated by the Court Jesters. They created illusion after illusion, even in times of war. I always had an uneasy feeling about all the bomding America did under Bill Clinton because the raids happened right at the time when Bill Clinton needed a political distraction from the heat he was enduring in the press. It all seemed like a "Wag the Dog" scenario. I tried giving him the benefit of the doubt, that he could possibly be capable of sacrificing the lives of our military men and women and the lives of men, women and children of our "adversaries".

About the third time I perceived a "Wag the Dog", I surmised that Bill Clinton and his adminsitration were indeed willing to use human lives as chess pieces in a "winner take all" political game. Maybe he and his Hollywood friends who were always so eager to help him produce whatever scene he needed were just not aware of the fact that they had left their world of make-believe and that they were actually wheeling and dealing with REAL things like the law, the Constitution, the TRUTH, and HUMAN LIVES.

Even after the the Monica Year in which the President was disgraced and the office was diminished, the Hollywood crowd still rallied round him and still gave him their money in support of him.

It is rumored that Bill Clinton will go to work for Dream Works studio after he's done with the Presidency. That would seem to be a rather natural environment for a man of his talents who can, himself, act his way out of anything.
