You Want A Sorry?

Dear China,

We are most sincerely sorry that your pilot, who caused the accident with our aircraft, is reported to have died.

It was an accident of his making and now we are sorry to hear that his actions were sanctioned by your government in an attempt to keep the United States from continuing reconnasaince and surveilance in that area. This type of activity has been ongoing for well over a year and an accident was inevitable.

We are sorry that you chose that path which caused the death of your pilot. It also put our 24 service men and women in harms way. As you know, surveilance and reconnasaince is necessary among all the nations who have Superpower capabilities. You have nuclear technology and we need to know what your intentions are in using it. We are well aware of the fact that you conduct your own surveilance and reconnasaince on us.

It was quite unfortuneate that our aircraft was thrown off course and had to make an emergancy landing on your island. Our people did transmit to you a MAYDAY alert.

We cannot begin to express just how incredibly sorry we are to learn that you, at one point considered shooting our plane out of the sky once it entered your airspace. Your pilot caused them to veer out of International airspace. You would have murdered 24 innocent people.

Sorry does not describe the emotions we feel at your choice in holding our 24 service men and women hostage for two weeks. At this we are angry and dismayed. You detained them just long enough to go through our aircraft with a finetooth comb. It doesnt take much to undersatnd that you did manage to get your hands on an awful lot of our military secrets over the past seven years, but what you have is all a pile of papers with some really technical blueprints. Having this aircraft, phyically, must have gone a long way at helping you use and understand that pile of papers.

We dont seem to be able to grasp how sorry we should be that you HAVE that pile of papers, but we will surely get around to being sorry for that in the future. For now, we are so sorry to inform you that the aircraft on the Island is OURS and we are getting it back immediately.

We are elated that you released our servicemen and women. Our government successfully impressed on you how detrimental it would be to you if you did not release them before our celebration of Easter and that further detainment would cause even more longterm damage between our countrys.

We were sorry to see our service men and women appear to be sleep deprived and so very tired looking. We were hoping you were treating them well. We cannot begin to tell you how sorry we are that our society is so addicted to stuff made in China. It is everywhere-- from on our electronics to the very shirt on our backs. We have been buying an awful lot from you. Americans have now seen that you are clearly not a friend to us and we have begun to wean ourselves from your products.

And on this point and at this time, it is YOUR turn to say YOU ARE sorry! You cannot afford for us to stop buying your products. It would bankrupt your nation. You will end up in the same condition as the former Soviet Union. You really should be spending your profit on the betterment of the lives of all those people you are responsible for, instead of all this military amassment.

Try to run a war with starving, disgruntled people. Iraq lost to us when Sadam Huessein behaved as you do towards his people. You should also be sorry that you used this accident to bolster cohesiveness amoung your masses who have been tired of your bad economy and of the horrid treatment of anyone who dissents and of the persecution of the religious.
