Umi Ryuzaki Umi's costume was inspired by some costume pieces that I found in a thrift store. This was probably one of the easiest things I have ever made for myself to wear, considering the sewing was very minimal. The costume itself is a tennis skirt, white blouse with 3/4 length sleeves, and a women's suitjacket, which has been tailored to waist lenght. The navy buttons on the jacket were replaced with gold ones, and some cuffs were made with a fabric that matched the skirt. The necktie is a piece of 7/8" orange ribbon, sewn to fit the shirt collar with a 5/8" blue button for color.

Being one of the first "bought to order" costumes, I also found the black boots in another thrift shop, and purchased the tights and hairband. As a finishing touch, I ordered a blue wig online, and the costume was done...at least until we do the armor!
