Mikage was created using the pattern for a Civil war uniform. The sleeves and cuffs were made as a single piece, and was trimmed with black before the sleeve was sewn. The stripes on the sleeves were made, using military patches found th the local army/navy surplus store, and the whole jacket was trimmed in red, and the buttons and zipper were sewn in place.
