| This costume tested every skill I have, namely resistance to 2-way tape! The jacket was designed using a pattern for a western style jacket, and from there it got tricky. I used a darker blue for the collar and facing, and when the jacket was sewn, began the battle with the trim. The scrollwork trim was designed by looking through countless pictures of Punch and Judy, then hand-drawing it on tracing paper. Then it was drawn to sheets of heat and bond, and 4 layers of a sheer white material were bonded together in the proper shape. The trim was then hand sewn to the jacket. The straight trim was no easier, as it required 3 layers of the ribbon to even be seen on the jacket, and was then hand sewn in place with hidden stitches. The overskirt was made using a long, straight piece of material and | |||||||||||

| then draping it to hang correctly. It was then sewn in place with large bolo-tie style buttons, and stayed in the proper shape when worn. The cuffs were freehanded and trimmed with more of the special ribbon, and sewn in place. The bandanna was purchased at a craft store. The skirt was purchased, and a grey material similar to the jacket was used for the trim. The belts, holster, and pistol were all purchased at various stores. The hat was found at the local flea market, and the hatband was a piece of light grey ribbon that matched the trim on the skirt. The wig was found online at witchwigs.com I absolutely love this wig, as it is light, soft, and the perfect style! | |||||||||||

| It took almost 3 weeks to find a picture of Judy's feet, and I was not surprised to find she has short, white cowboy boots on. The earrings were made, using small wooden hearts and earring backings, then painting them pink. Being that this charachter is even more two-dimensional than most anime charachters, I believe that it was an incredible accomplishment. I learned a lot of new things, working with this costume, but I hope to seriously improve the way it is worn. 3M might be good for some things, but as far as sticking it to bare skin...let me just say it was the scream heard round the con, removing this costume! | |||||||||||
