Fitcon was another relaxed event, as it is close to home, so we headed down to Melbourne, making it in time to get to Gecko's cosplay panel, which was interesting and informative. After that was over, we went back to the main area and checked out the dealer's room, game room, artists, and got our picture taken a lot. This year's Fitcon had a lot more cosplayers than I had seen at previous years combined! The one thing I missed was the kimono place that they had last year. I wanted to learn how to tie the obi I had! The only real problem I noticed with Fitcon this year is that things were not very clearly marked. We never found a viewing room, and the panel room was also badly marked. I think that they could have done well to add some more signs. As well, they needed to make a seperate list fo the cosplay and costume contest sign ups, because many of the cosplayers were very confused as to what was going on during prejudjing. Otherwise, we had a reasonably good time, but decided against returning on Sunday. |
