| Anthy Himemiya | Another Anthy costume was definitely a personal choice. After wishing I hadn't sold the first one, I wanted to make this lovley, feminine costume again! Materials used were 5 yards of red satin, 1 yard of teal satin, 1/2 yard of gold lame, 1/4 yard of white satin, 7 yards of white 5/8" ribbon, 1 yard yellow 5/8" ribbon, 3 yards of gold cord, 6 5/8" white rose buttons, 30 yards of 1/8" teal ribbon, paper mache balls, tulip paint, a wooden circle, and some foam board. The petticoats were found at a shop in downtown Melbourne called Judy's Consignment, and the wig was once again through the Looking Glass Boutique. The eyeglasses were just my current frames, minus the lenses, and the tiara was found at Wal-Mart. | |||||||||||

| The costume, was made from a chinese shirt pattern and made sleeveless and open at the sides and back to give the same look as the costume. The skirt was made from an expanded skirt pattern for a formal dress and pleated and gathered at the waist. The waistband was a piece of blanket binding, because it was easier than trying to make a waistband from scratch. The pockets, cuffs, and epaulets were freehand. The tassels were made from teal ribbon cut and attatched to the balls with superglue. The petticoat got to be heavy and annoying, though, so prior to Jacon I expanded the skirt about 2 more panels to accomodate a hoopskirt. Unfortunately, the underskirt bled when it was washed and left a nasty teal color mark on the | ||||||||||||

| pockets, so they will have to be remade. The underskirt will also be made detatchable so it can just ruin itself the next time I try to wash it. I also have to reattatch a lot of the accessories I tore off when the skirt was "bleeding" so it may need a bit of work. Total cost: including wig and petticoats: Approximately 100.00 Time spent: About 35 hours |
