we are in the middle of producing the first newspaper of the spring semester. because we've only been back in school for a week, we're a bit thin in the content department. oops. i'm spreading a bit of negativity about as usual--this time, i think we've got a crap front page. it's just.. crap. bland. feh.
to counteract the negativity (i.e. the amount of bitchiness i'm spreading about a heavy helping of), i'd also like to point out that we are featuring one of the best, if not the best full-page photo-essay we have ever featured, and we've run some fabulous spreads before.
mike feimster took a camera with him for his christmas visit back home in harlem, nyc, and shot some absolutely wonderful pictures. sigh. the photo above is my absolute favorite. i love the colours, and i love the visual pun of the "don't walk" sign, coupled with the walking, blurry woman. love love love it. i'm very sad we cannot run the whole photo essay in colour. feh. oh well.
so here you go--my shout-out, and sincere bow, to mike feimster and his pretty, pretty picture. weee!

i copy-edited a few sports stories. that's always fun, especially when you don't know how to read sports stories. "The Lady Eagles continued to pound the inside, and converted twenty-four points off of turnovers." means very little to me. hee.
i worked over photo's to make sure they print okay. re-designed an ad. danced around like a fool with the rest of the office to outkast's "the whole world". you know. the usual.
and suddenly it's 11.30 at night and i've been here for 13 hours. and there, there's claudia, designated food fairy, bringing offerings of popsicles, orange juice, mini-cupcakes and veggie chips for us all. claudia rocks. 13 hours and counting. cin cin. �� 11:45 p.m.
