movie mania girl

my friend jeremy pointed me to the latest nick cave video; while i have troubles downloading the whole thing, the song is absolutely beautiful.
i think i have a visual problem though, or perhaps it would be more aptly labelled a visual addiction. sometimes i wish my eyes were spy-camera eyes so that every beautiful thing i see could be preserved with an energetic blink of an eye. (that begs the question where the film would come out.. hee.) or to not have to step outside ever, never turn the tv off, endless supply of video cassettes so that my usual 3-in-a-row marathons could become an endless stream of any movie, any video, any tv-show. i'd never leave.
more reality-based, i do have a problem, though. i cannot step into a video store without compulsively renting the limit (3 new releases). my hands and whole being is literally unable to not carry three covers to the check out desk, i can't even imagine just walking in there, getting one movie and leaving, impossible.
i have to bite my lip not to tell strangers to put back their selection when i know they've made a bad choice, and i've creeped out more than one group of people, or couple, by responding out of the blue as they query each other if anybody know anything of the movie they are looking at.
i've been known to direct people to where they can find the movie they are looking for -- "'house of yes' - that would be dark comedy, right past the drama and regular comedy section to your left. oh, no problem."
i was born to work a vcr. as much of a technical clutz i am, i haven't met a tv or vcr i haven't been able to connect and program, down to the most complicated setting. i make meticulous pirate copies, starting perfectly with the opening credits and ending exactly when the last credit frame fades to black. i am movie queen.
born to watch.
sort of sad, isn't it? heh. i might note i watched "nurse betty" and "almost famous" last night - excellent movies, especially the later, it makes me want to be a penny lane groupie, heh. this afternoon i'll finish off the latest version of "hamlet" which i adore.
mmm. mooooovies. better than donuts. better than.. no, i won't go there.
they are just.. better.
