I open my eyes and take a deep breath
Theres a dull, painful ache deep in my chest
I climb out of bed & into the shower
Before I know it, Ive been there an hour
I look in the mirror as I brush at my hair
Surprised by the eyes that return my stare
Somethings missing from the woman I saw
A tear hangs on her lash; a quiver shakes her jaw
What saddens this woman who looks back at me
Only great sorrow could cause the pain I see
I reach out to touch her face on the glass
Then recoil suddenly with a frightened gasp
Oh no! Thats me! In dismay I cried
Its been a month since my daughter died
The pain I see makes sense to me now
And I must learn to live again somehow
Live without her smiling face
Live without her charm and grace
Live with out her eternal smile
Live without my first-born child
My hand goes limp; the brush hits the floor
The strength in my legs will hold me no more
I fall to the floor in a grief stricken heap
Sobs shaking my body as I lie there and weep
Hush, My child, I hear the voice of my Lord
Rest easy, let Me comfort you, I relax with His words
I grope for His strength, Tell me more, I plead
Listen, My child, Ill give what you need
Learn from the comfort that I give to you
So that you may comfort others, too
Dont worry about things but with thanks ask of Me
To keep your heart and mind, My peace I give to thee
I wish everything could be as it should
But if you love Me, it will work out for good
Remember saintly deaths are precious in My sight
Theyve finished their course and fought a good fight
I long to see you finish your race
I want to give you your Heavenly place
So you must run with patience the course Ive laid
And have faith that well be reunited someday

There is coming a day
When no heartaches shall come
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye
All is peace forever more
On that happy golden shore
What a day, glorious day, that will be!
What a day that will be
When my Jesus I shall see
And I look upon His face,
The One Who saved me by His grace
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land
What a day, glorious day, that will be!
There'll be no sorrow there,
No more burdens to bear
No more sickness no more pain,
No more parting over there
And forever I will be
With the One Who died for me
What a day, glorious day, that will be!
What a day that will be
When my Jesus I shall see
And I look upon His face,
The One Who saved me by His grace
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land
What a day, glorious day, that will be!
Oh, what a day, glorious day, that will be!
(What a day that will be!)
