"The price men pay for indifference to politics is to be governed by evil men or men worse than themselves" - Plato

Government: In this course students apply knowledge gained in previous years of study to pursue a deeper understanding of the institution of American government. In addition, they draw on their studies of American History and of other societies to compare different systems of government in the world today. This course should be viewed as the culmination of civic values, rights and responsibilities that prepare students to vote, to reflect on the responsibilities of citizenship and to participate in community activities. |
If ignorance paid dividends, most Americans could make a fortune out of what they don't know about economics" - |
Economics: In this course students will deepen their understanding of the economic institutions and problems of the nation and the world in which they live. They will learn to make reasoned decisions on economic issues as citizens, workers, consumers, business owners, managers and members of civic groups. Students will add to the economic understanding they aquired in previous grades and apply tools (such as graphs, statistics, and equations) learned in other subject fields to their understanding of our economic system. |

"How I hate discipline! How my heart spurned correction! I would not obey my teachers or listen to my instructors. I have come to the brink of utter ruin in the midst of the whole assembly. But, whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, and he who hates correction is stupid. Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise." - Unkown |
