Kat grew up in a small suburban town in Northern Georgia. She used to escape the hardships she experienced at home by going to her spot near a small creek and writing peotry. She would do this for hours no matter the consequence she would face upon her return home. Her father would beat her mother right in front of her, and if she herself did something wrong, no matter how trivial, she would get the belt to her backside.
I wasn't until she was 17 and a Senior in High School that she left home. One night, while she slept in her bed, her father came in and tried to molest her. It was then that she awakened. It was then, that her father died. And it was then that she ran, taking her father's car and credit cards, and driving for what seemed like days until she arrived in New Bremen.
Upon her arrival, she booked herself a hotel room and tried to get a job, but being only 17 and without parents, that was somewhat difficult. Instead she would sit on the street and sing, hoping for some kind person to drop her a few cents. She eventually met up with her current band members from Broken Silence. She also went back to school, got her GED and a degree in Music Instruction as well.
She now has a successful business and band and with the help of her best friend, Isabella Romano, she has started to reacquaint herself into everyday society. She is no longer the hermit she once was and is learning new things every day.
