Dear Mr. Principal,

       As of May, 2007, I will be certified to teach in the area of middle level mathematics, having 
graduated from Texas A&M University - Commerce.  I am extremely interested in acquiring a teaching 
position in your school district.  I feel I am a very well-suited candidate for a teaching position with your 
district in that I have spent the last semester as a resident in the Texas A&M University-Commerce 
year-long field-based teacher education program. 
       
       	Currently, I am fulfilling my residency at Greenville Middle School and Greenville 
Intermediate School in the Greenville Independent School District.  Through working in this program, I 
have gained hands-on experience in working daily with the students and valuable knowledge that I will 
carry with me into my teaching career.  

       	In the area of mathematics, I feel it is my job to open the students' eyes to this great 
subject.  All of their experiences are going to be fresh and new compared to other classes they have 
had in the past.  I want to have the opportunity to grasp this experience with open arms.  By giving the 
students a positive and enjoyable experience with the education process, I hope to accomplish a 
lifelong hunger for knowledge.
