| July 10th Attendance: Starr Wetzel, Karen Hausrath convened the meeting. Carol Wolfe, Lloyd Swick and Mike Tscheuschuer attended from the City of Tacoma. There were a large group of neighbors present. Old Business: � Code enforcement update. There are 200 cases. Hitting easy areas now such as tall grass. � Police update: Loretta Cool is out with surgery, Mike Tscheuschuer is taking her place until she returns. � Weed and Seed�no representative present � Asotin owners meeting�making overture to Centennial Apts owner. Clean up went well, thanks to those neighbors who helped. Picking paint colors. New Business: � National Night Out was discussed in terms of Jenny Reed. Have one big celebration in the neighborhood. Chris will check with the school. Potluck. Date is August 7. Steering committee will meet to get the details planned. � July Cleanup is 7/14. Meet at 35 and Asotin. August cleanup is 8/18 meet at Asotin apts. Mike Tscheuschuer will be asked to be there. � Summer problems brought up by the neighbors: 1. Loud thumping music. 50� radius and should not be heard beyond that. Call 798-4721 (non-emergency #) 2. Speeding on 38th. There are officers on that road and have written tickets. Radar gun is available to borrow to target some of these. Neighbors should call in the speeders to 911 or 798-4721. Need info such as type, brand, color of car and license # if possible. School zones are enforced 7:30-3:30 if not a flashing sign or with other hours. 3. Students requested cross walks at 37th and M, especially during the school year. 4. Are the stop signs at 36th and Alaska too small? 5. Speed humps on S Sheridan don�t work for the whole block. Anything else to do? � Trees available through the City to be planted on the parking strip. Eric got a general idea of who wanted trees. | May 8th: The meeting was mainly devoted to the presentation given by Dave Lovrak from the Law Enforcment Support Agency on 911 calls. Our Thanks goes out to Dave Lovrak for doing a very good job. This event attacted many new faces that with many of them signing a sign up sheet with a few even stating that they will attend more meetings. After the meeting plenty of input was given on new concerns from the neighborhood that has been passed on to the corosponding city dept. I would like to thank everyone that attended and please come again. |
