Belladonna

This is our new baby, Belladonna "Bella". She is a purebread Maltese. Her mother weighs 5 pounds and her father weights 4 and a half. She is currently 9 weeks old and weighs 2.1 pounds. (See the picture of her next to the soda can for a size comparison.) Here are pictures of her first bath where she looks so tiny, and pictures of her afterwards - looking like a lamb needing to be sheered. She has the personality of a ferrit. She is HYSTERICAL - very affectionate, very loveable. We told her "no, bad potty" - and she covered the pointing/accusing finger in kisses. We completely understand how these tiny furbabies have such a spoiled reputation. She is considered a "toy" dog, but not a teacup. (There is no such thing as 'teacup' Maltese. She walks so lightly that can we couldnt hear her coming and kept getting caught underfoot. So when we were looking for a collar for her - we found a KITTEN collar with a bell - which is perfect because now we can hear where she is. - Hence "Bella." There must have been a pet at the breeders name by that name (or similar) because she knows that word and immediately comes running - so she has really named herself. She is being crate and litterbox trained (which is going well so far.) Chief is obsessed with her. Genghis isn't quite sure what to think, but when he givers her a kiss - it is like getting a shower! She likes Chief, but is a little apprehensive of Genghis (I'm sure his size is intimidating - especially the size of his grin.)
