Well well well, look at this, it's basically been a year since my weight loss plans started.
Where am I at? It's been ages since I updated - so I figure there are people out there dying to know what I'm doing.
Let's just say the Jennie of May 2001 is soooooooo different to the Jennie of May 2000.
Firstly I am pleased to say that I haven't put on any of the weight I have lost. I am now down to 92 kilos, which means I have lost 25 kilos in the past year. I'm now getting into 16-18 sizes, which beats the old potato sacks I used to have to wear.
Now for all the other changes.
The major change in my life - I am now single. My fiance and I broke up a few months ago. I've moved into a perfect little granny flat closer to the city, and I love it. I truly miss the companionship of having a partner, but I won't dwell on what I've lost. Instead, I am moving forward with my life, going out, meeting new people, and with my new found confidence, hopefully I won't stay single for long.
I've become a much stronger, more independent woman since being on my own. This is basically the first time I've been single since I was about 18. My family are desperate for me to move back to Sydney, but I quite like it here in Brisbane. Besides that, I have a good job up here, and some wonderful friends. I feel I need to prove I can make it on my own and not give in and go back to Mummy, despite how much easier things would be if I did.
I have a new email address as well, in case you want to contact me: [email protected] feel free to drop me a line anytime. - and hey, if you're in Brisbane I especially want an email - I'd love some more friends!
I've also been in for the big "Check Up" with the doc, to see if there's anything wrong with me. Basically, they've discovered I am anemic (Spelling??) and that I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Nothing major, but the Doc has suggested a new diet for me that cuts out carbohydrates. She seems to think that might help me shift the next 15 kilos.
Anyway, just a short update, just to let you know I'm still alive. I'm still keen to get smaller, and hey - I'm single and surviving - that's the best hurdle I've jumped!
Take care everyone!
