Wow...grad school keeps me so busy I can't even update my web page these days. I have just finished up my second year of classes (with the major exception of a paper that I still have to write). Only one more year of classes left to take. It's hard to believe, since I've been in school for the last 19 years or so. This summer I'm going to be taking a trip to Mexico and traveling around there. I'll also be going to stay with my parents for a little while. So if you live along my path, let me know if you want to get together :)

I had a great time at the Arizona State University field school in New Mexico for 6 weeks this summer! Now I hope to have a little more time to dedicate to fixing up my web page. I'm spending the remainder of my summer break staying with my parents and working for my dad. So far he's been keeping me busy with house painting and working on his internet used book store.

Today is the first day back at school from spring break. I had a nice break after a hectic midterm period. My sister visited during the week before spring break while she was on her break. John and I went to Florida during our break with some friends. It was cloudy most of the time, so I only got a couple hours on the beach enjoying the sunshine. It was still fun! Now I'm busy working on all the papers that are due in the next three weeks and spending lots of time at the zoo observing a baby gorilla for a project. This summer I'm going to go to a field school to learn how to "do" archaeology and may work for a while.

Ok! I'm a slacker! Life in grad school is hectic. Add life in New Orleans to it and it's just plain crazy. Mardi Gras was yesterday, so we just got finished with 2 weeks of parades. I walked a horse in Rex (the big parade on Mardi Gras Day). We caught about a billion beads, cups, doubloons, and other stuff at the parades. Another big event is my birthday, which is tomorrow! Can't believe I'll be 23! Eeeeek, I'm old.

Boy am I busy now! They actually expect you to do work at grad school ;) There's not much time to update my page these days. My research assistant job is to work on the web page for the Middle American Research Institute which is run by the anthropology department at Tulane. Besides that work, I'm also busy with school work and actually getting to spend time with my boyfriend! This is the first time we've lived within 2500 miles or so of each other. Hopefully I'll get some time to add to my page in the near future!

It's been a long time since I've been able to update my page. The summer went well. I had a good time working at camp. My boyfriend and I are sucessfully moved to New Orleans now and working on settling in. Grad school started for me last week. I'm enjoying it so far but may change my mind toward the end of the semester when I'm sick of doing all the reading and writing again. Someday soon I hope to have time to do a major renovation of my page and post some photos from this summer. Thanks for visiting my page!
