Much of our time was spent trying to take accurate measurements of the features of our trenches. This photo is of the work in a neighboring trench. A level is being used to determine the altitude of a pit they found. Measurements are taken in relation to points of known altitude in each trench. For very important discoveries, more accurate equipment can be used to find more exact elevations.
