50th Spring 1361 D.R.
We've finally gotten out of this stupid town! Let me start from where I left off; it might be less confusing, after all!

The group of us, having just managed to get Liss back into his body, started to wander aimlessly, looking for anyone else we could find. Of course, the very first thing we ran into was a crazy villager, who attacked us because he was convinced that we were evil and that we were responsible for everything that had ever gone wrong in his life and so on. Humans are very weird. This one, fortunately, was also very easily driven off (although he did singe Sirius pretty thoroughly). He was to later prove very annoying, and in a way, I wish we'd done something dramatic, like knock him unconscious and tie him up somewhere, but hindsight is perfect, I suppose....

Well, we were heading out of the main square when we heard something coming! A huge dog came barreling down the road at us, only to be brought up short by Dogboy! Apparently, we'd run into one of his hounds. Haley and I tried to ride it, but it seemed pretty unfriendly (hence confirming that it was indeed Jothra, since Jothra is even more unfriendly than the other hound had been), and we settled for riding on Dogboy again. Of course, we didn't have far to go, since right across the street, there was a bakery, and in it, to my mortification, was my body, glutting itself on pounds and pounds of bread.

We had a plan, we really did. Tolec carried me into the bakery and dropped me on the back of my body's neck; I stabbed myself, and that was going to be that. Unfortunately, we'd failed to account for my superior elven resistance to magic, and we spent a great deal of time and effort trying to subdue my body before we were finally able to do so. It was at this point that we noticed two things: one, Dogboy was sick with something (I hope it's not catching!) , and more immediately important, the crazy villager had just thrown a torch into the bakery, forcing us to run for it. Of course, that was when we realized that we'd left Haley behind, so Dogboy and I ran back in to save her. As usual, I had to save the day... Strange, though; Dogboy confronted the madman, who seemed to have the same disease! I wonder what it is?

We decided at this point to try the apothecary's; hoping we could find something to help Dogboy with whatever weird disease he'd contracted. Off we all trudged, carrying various puppets (remind me to explain to Sirius at some point that I would be reluctant to be forced to castrate him), only to find that the apothecary's shop was occupied. Sam recognized his body, so in we went, and after a brief battle, we were able to get Samar back into his body. Alas, we were not able to find anything to help Dogboy, which was unfortunate, because he looked pretty bad. So without any other real plans, we decided to head towards the constable's place, just to see what was there.

Fortunately, we came across a light in the wizard's place. I can't believe I didn't find that earlier! When we looked in, Prihelm and Sirius were busily looting it. After a long time planning, we eventually tried to have Liss distract them while Samar and I mugged them, but Sam, with his human heritage, stepped on a loose floorboard and that was that. It took us a great deal of effort, and Liss was getting pretty badly beaten up (as was Haley), but we were just about ready to finish them when that damnable madman threw a torch into the shop. We grabbed Haley and ran just as the shop was blowing up (and I had wanted my own chance to see what the wizard had for sale!); Dogboy and Liss weren't so fortunate and were both rather severely crisped, but at least Prihelm and Sirius were out for the count. We were thus able to take their bodies back while I sewed Haley back together as best as I could and the men played with their new toys (a few weapons had survived the explosion, so we think they are probably magical, which will no doubt be of great use in this horrible place).

Me sewing Haley together proved to be a very good thing, because no sooner had I done it than we encountered Haley! Sirius, being a little odd, tried to keep her occupied by telling weird stories, but he failed to account for Haley's sharp eyes; she saw Alamon and turned to run, and it was only by my great skill and fleetness of foot that we were able to stop her. Having knocked her down with a flying tackle, we were able to get her body back as well, and now all we needed to do was to find Alamon and then take care of Maligno and that was that! It all sounds so simple...

It actually proved to be fairly easy, really, since Alamon was spotted hiding in the main square. He took off running with the rest of us in hot pursuit, and eventually, after Liss utterly failed in his attempt to tackle the priest, Sirius and I reluctantly brought him down with thrown weapons. After all, he could heal himself, and I was pretty sure that he'd rather have his body back wounded than not at all. Fortunately, I am a pretty decent knife-thrower, and I was able to avoid wounding him too much due to my great skill and so on. Alamon was quickly overpowered, we got him back into his body, and that, as they say, was that.

Deciding to risk resting first, we went to the money-lender's place under the assumption that it would be the most secure building in town and holed up there for several hours while the others rested and recovered their spells. I can't believe some of the things these people said about me! I'm starting to think that they're not really my friends after all... But I can worry about this some other time, the untrusting bastards!

Anyways, Dogboy was getting worse and worse; he looked like he was rotting away! It's pretty nasty, and I'm worried for him, but there's not much we can do, so...

Now that we were as ready as we would ever be, we went straight to the theater to put an end to Maligno once and for all. After looking around, we tied two of the three front doors shut and sent Prihelm and Samar through the back while the rest of us went through the front. Maligno and a few other carrionettes were putting on a show for the children of Odiare; we yelled for them to leave, and to my surprise, they ran out. Prihelm and Samar leapt on stage to confront Maligno and his allies while the rest of our group (except for Liss and I) moved up to do likewise. Something really strange happened to Dogboy; I don't want to discuss it now, but I'm worried about him. He looked pretty sinister for a while.

The battle was long, and highlighted by Prihelm and Samar dancing around like lunatics as an effect of Maligno's touch. This provided great comic relief for the rest of us as we killed off the carrionettes and the dragon (did I mention him? I killed him. Me! Jennara Raventhorn, Dragonslayer!), but while we were still trying to get rid of Maligno, something very odd happened; the ghosts of Odiare's adults showed up! They did some weird magic thing and started the place on fire, forcing the rest of us to run for it. I don't know what it is, but I'm getting awfully sick of running from burning buildings. This is not in my contract!

There was no one living in the place, at least no one adult, except for the madman, and even he was dying. He had been very badly burned in the explosion, and survived just long enough to say that his disease (and hence, I would assume, Dogboy's as well) was being caused by one of us and point out Liss before he croaked and was still.

We had no desire to stay in that cursed place any longer, so we ran out, me keeping as far from Liss and Dogboy and Sirius as I could. Soon enough, we ran across the mists and the same rope that we'd followed away from our little ship! Back we went, and now we're sailing away on the ever-so-pleasant ocean. I wish I knew what happened to Leighla!
