Willie Goes Shopping
Once there was a small brown donkey, named
Willie, who lived on a farm way out in the country.

Willie had a best friend named Brenna, she
was a small girl with Golden hair.  Willie and
Brenna were the best of friends, and played
together every day.

One day as Willie and Brenna played a game
of Willie the Super Hero,   Brenna told Willie
that she couldn't play long, because she was
going shopping with her grand parents later that
day.

Willie was not sure what shopping was, but he thought if Brenna was doing it,  it must be great fun!   Willie watched as Brenna and her grandparents got ready to go.   He wanted to go so badly , he brayed loudly letting them know he wanted to too!

Brenna said;  Look Grandma,  Willie wants to
go too!   Grandma and Grandpa looked at each other and then said;  Why not?  Why shouldn't a
small brown donkey go shopping?
So up into the back of the truck went Willie, to go on his very first shopping trip!

The old truck rattled it's way into town with Willie standing proudly in the back.   When it
stopped Grandpa helped Willie out.   Brenna took Willie's lead, just to make sure he wouldn't get lost , and off they went .

Many people were in town shopping that day.  Most were happy to see Willie, and many came up
to say Hello, and give him a pat on the head.

Willie was amazed at all the things he seen,  he
seen shiney new cars,  lots of people, and bright twinkling lights.   But the one thing Willie was just not sure of  were the big glass doors  of the pet store.    It seemed to him that each time he tried to go in , there was another donkey trying to come out!

Brenna explained to him that it was just his refelection in the glass and that there was not another donkey trying to come out of the big doors.

Willie went inside,  in the store were more people, dogs, cats,
birds, and many pretty colored fish swimming around in tanks that bubbled happily.      Willie and Brenna spent a long time in front of those tanks watching the colorful fish swim round and round, and listening to the bubbles.

All to soon it was time to go  home.  Grandpa and Grandma
had finished their shopping and needed to get back to the farm to
do the evening chores.

Lots of people said Goodbye to Willie and some even walked out to the truck to see him off.  Once Willie was on his way home. He thought of all the wonders he'd seen in town.

Back on the farm Willie told all his animal friends about all he
had seen in town shopping with Brenna.

That night as Willie lay sleeping in his stall, he dreamed of going shopping again.   But he was glad he lived on the farm, he thought town was much to noisey for a donkey to get any sleep.
