| Hello, I'd like to dedicate this page to our campgrounds and trails. We are in very seirous danger of losing our riding and camping privledges in many of our camping and trail areas. not only in Indiana, but all across the country! Our ancestors made this great country what it is today from the back of a horse. Horses were what made this nation what we now call FREE! To lose our riding privledges would be tragic to most of us. Do you know why we are in Danger of losing our rights as riders? Because we go into a campground or the backcountry and just destroy what nature has provided for us! By not keeping our areas clean! Here are some helpful tips on helping to keep our riding rights! and the Trails open to horsemen. I beg you please to help. |
| Clean Camping and Riding Tips There are a few easy ways to assure we will be riding our trails and camping in our campgrounds for years to come. #1 Always make sure your camp fire is put out properly #2 Make sure you leave your campsite in better condition than when you arrived #3 Clean up after your horse, putting manure in a manure bin or at least scattering it so that it dosen't kill plant life. #4 Do not tie your horses to trees, some horses will eat the bark and kill the trees. #5 If you use trees for your picket line be sure to use tree savers, these protect the bark of the tree from damage from ropes. #6 On the trails, if you see trash, pick it up, it only takes a moment and makes the trails so much nicer for us all. #7 Do not litter, if you pack it in,, Please Pack it out, things such as soft drink cans and candy wrappers are so much lighter to carry out then they were to carry in. #8 Make sure you keep the restrooms and shower houses clean and tidy, no one wants to clean up after you. #9 If you meet hikers or bikers on the trails, Please be polite, make a quick safe pass and share the trails. #10 And Last but not least,, Please Keep your dogs on leash, some horses are frightened by dogs running in the camp and it can cause quite a bit of trouble if your dog should spook someone's horses. If we all practice these few simple tips we will ensure that our trails will be open for us all to use for years to come! |
