Culminating Activity

See an example of a newsletter you and your students can create to send home to parents.
Problem:
Are your students parents not very involved? Do they feel like they can contact you? Do they have an idea about what the kids are doing in class all day so they feel like they can be comfortable becoming involved?
Solution:
Create a science unit newsletter! After the end of this unit, you and your kids can put together a newsletter to be taken home to let their parents be more involved. Interview some students for a timeout with a team section. You can also get your kinds to suggest/vote on items to be placed in the newsletter. You can even create teams that could be responsible for each unit’s newsletter. By the end of the semester, each team should have completed one newsletter.
