UPDATE 3-4 2000
Hi there once again!
Well our trip's to the city this last week went well.First Jenna's ear surgeon saw her on Tuesday and said her tube's look beautiful!No sign of water or any infection!So that is great news!This is the first time in over 6 month's Jenna doesn't have water in her ear's!Also what a difference in her hearing! She respond's immediately when we call her name,and she actually understand's when we tell her no! She used to hit us in the face to let us know how much she "loves" us,her poor little cousin Josh can attest to that one" she really loves him!"Anyway she has stopped that altogether,we decided it must have been frustration due to the fact that she couldn't hear!Poor kid! We'll have to wait and see if there was any permanent damage to her ear's or not,but she hear's us so we'll take it!!
We also met with Dr. Cowan,Jenna's BMT Dr. on Wednsday we really like him he's a nice guy.He told us the donor has already responded to our request but that he had to push the date we requested back 2 week's because he/she is going to be out of town.Which is okay because Jenna has a really nasty cold right now and she need's time to get better.The good new's is that the donor has accepted our request!Apparently just because someone has signed up to be a donor doesn't mean that they alway's come through!What a wonderful person to give so selflessly to someone he has never met!!
So we are looking at the date's of march 20th for Jenna's broviac line to be put in and for her MRI.The line goes into her main artery in her neck and comes out her chest.This is so they can do her blood draws and give her medicine to her without resticking her 10 times a day.She has to have this for a year after transplant.Oh boy!The week after that she is admitted, Chemo start's and the next week her transplant is done.
So it is all coming together a few more week's of normal.We are getting pretty nervous.
The only other thing the doc did say was that we need to get Jenna over her cold and then keep her away from small children and anyone who is sick or even think's they might have been near someone sick.So I guess her isolation really start's now.I'm sure you all understand!We wish it were different believe me they even told us to start now not kissing Jenna.Anyone who know's how we are with Jenna know's that's going to be hard!!Especially for her daddy I am afraid!
