Well hello!Once again sorry to leave you hanging! We had a little problem .The floor above us sprung a leak so they had to move us so they could fix it.It was a real pain but we are back now. They had to completely high clean our room again,so we had to move everything out clean it all with alcohol and bring it back in.But we're done and settled again.Jenna was very happy to be back in our room. Now the good news!Yesterday her WBC count was up to .900,that is up .300 from the day before. We finially got an idea about these neutrophil's,they are the white blood cell's that fight off infection.Yesterday Jenna's Absoloute Neutrophil Count was 5.6,this is great!Once her ANC is over .5 for 3 consecutive day's they are allowed to go out into the unit.Jenna will love that!Tomorrow should be the day.Today her WBC was 3.2,this is quite a jump from yesterday's .900!The doc's are just amazed at how well she is doing. We haven't heard what her ANC is today. She is eating like normal, playing like normal, and now she is being switched over from IV drug's to oral which is one of the criteria for discharge! So far she is able to tolerate them orally just fine. They don't think we will have to be here much longer,if she continues to do so well. This is very scary but also exciting! They aren't going to make us wait to see the engraftment study come back before we go.They said that even if it turn's out to be that Jenna's cell's are the ones growing back, we have to wait until she is healed to try again. That is not going to be the case though. This little girl keep's on proving what a little miracle she is! She still has a rash that comes and goes, and they do think it is GVHD,but from what we understand this is very common in transplant. There are all different degree's of this and we'll just pray we have the mild form and it stop's here. Well that's the scoop for now! Take care everyone!Hopefully we'll see you soon! Love, Randy,Kristi & Jenna |
