my room's a little messy
my grades aren't always great
my hair is a disaster
these are the things you hate
so i like a little chaos
amidst your perfect world
is it so wrong to want to live
just like your average teenage girl?

i'm not a supermodel
in case you cannot see
i'm no athlete like my sister
perfect is who I'll never be
a genius has no social life
and though I'm no miss popularity
i'll find my gifts lie somewhere
but perfect isn't me

i got kicked out of singing club
because I couldn't sing worth moot
never could draw too well either
so the artists gave me the boot
fashion lovers didn't like me
because my colours clashed
thought I was in with the computer geeks
until the system crashed

i'm still searching for the girl inside
the girl who's so happy
the girl who knows her place in life
the girl who's just like me
so I may not be perfect
at least I'm glad to be
the one some people call their friend
