help me when I'm in a hole
so deep I can't climb out
help me understand when I'm confused
so I know what I'm talking about

help me see when I am blind
so I don't get lost along the way
help me hear when I cannot
so I can find the right words to say

help me cry when tears won't come
so you will know that I am sad
help me smile when all's good again
so I know that life's not so bad

help me when nothing goes my way
so that I stay cool and calm
help remind me that life seems darkest
when it's just before the dawn

and if you can't help me in these things
although you try with all your might
then I ask that you do but one thing for me
cheer me up- I'll be alright
