My Town

my town

all photos taken my be unless otherwise noted.

the water tower. nothing special. it gives us water.

for some strange reason, a company decided to set up a slipper factory in this town. it's not very big, and gives my street plenty of traffic at 3:30pm, when all employees go home for the day. sometimes you'll see kids hanging out in the driveway. don't ask me why.

look, everyone! small town ghetto. actually, i'm not entirely sure what that is. but it looked neat from where i was walking, so i snapped a picture.

my old house. i lived here until i was about 7, and it's been up for sale i don't know how many times since my family moved out. my mom says it might have something to do with the fact that it has no front yard. apperently, that bothers people.

another one of those strange things- it's a small car dealership. i doubt they get much busniess, myself, but it must be enough- they're still open.

the bank, and my ultimate destination on this walk.

the local pharmacy. the pharmasist's word around here is as good as any doctor's.

the local foodland. it also serves the town's alcohol needs- see the sign for the beer store?

the war memorial. when i was in elementry school, we would walk up here every rememberance day for a service. the entire school. those were some good (and cold) times.

the library. i don't spend much time here- there's not a lot to see. plus, it keeps very strange hours i can never remember. and my fine is about $10.

the little church on the corner. a town landmark. when you mention "the church on the corner", everyone knows that this is the one you mean.

we have one set of street lights here, and busniesses take advantage of the traffic generated where two streets meet. here, you will see a gas station (one of 3 on this corner), a home hardware, pizza shop, convienence store and every small town's hot-spot- a doughnut shop. well, every town except this one- it closed down not too long ago.

the only movie rental store in town. unfortunatly for me and other technologically unadvanced families, they only rent dvds. hense why we don't have a membership.

a cookie to anyone who can guess which hockey team these people hope to win the cup. i wonder if the inside is all blue and white, too.

signs someone has up on the fence of their house. i don't get it.

i walk to my bus stop one morning, and this kite is caught on the electrical wires. i go back the next day, and what do you know? it's still there. so i took a picture of it.
