I. Your book of limericks will be evaluated based on the following rubric:

The main point in each of your limericks is clear and specific
The main point in some of your limericks is somewhat clear and could be more specific
The main point in your limericks is not specific
The main point in your limericks is missing
Organization
Your limericks contain 5 lines and follow the proper poetic structure
Your limericks contain 5 lines and follow most of the proper structure
Your limericks vary from the appropriate number of lines in a limerick
Your limericks do not follow the poetic structure of a limerick
Voice
Your limericks provide the reader with a visual image and are enjoyable

Some of your limericks provide the reader with a visual image and some are enjoyable

All or most of your limericks lack vivid language and are not enjoyable
There is no evidence of vivid language in your limericks
Word Choice
Your choice of vocabulary is appropriate, varied and makes the writing interesting
Some of your word choices make the writing interesting
There are a few interesting word choices
There are too many repetitive words in your limericks
Fluency
Your limericks are rhythmic, include rhyming and flow nicely
Your limericks flow and you use a rhyming pattern
A few of your limericks demonstrate a rhythm and rhyme
There is no flow to any of your limericks
Conventions
There are no spelling mistakes and the writing makes sense
There is one spelling mistake and the writing makes sense
There is more than one spelling mistake and some of the writing does not make sense
There are many spelling and grammar mistakes

II. The second part of evaluating your limerick book will be based on the evaluation by one of your peers. Your final score will be the average of the teacher's evaluation and your fellow classmate's.
