I am currently enrolled in a Interactive Multimedia Program at Canadore
College. This coarse includes instruction in photography, video, audio,
programming and web page design. It has given me experience with both
the Windows and Mac platforms, as well as the following programs: Authorware,
Director, Flash, Dreamweaver Ultra Dev , Acid, Sound Forge, Adobe Photoshop
and more.
Last year I taught English and Communications Technology at Kapuskasing
District High School. This school has a significant francophone population.
Living in a community that is primarily French Canadian was a wonderful
experience. It helped me to improve my communication skills and helped
me to become more flexible. I taught students of various grades, at
the advanced, general, and basic levels, as well as students who have
special needs, and foreign exchange students. I also taught a split
general and basic level English class this year, where I had to learn
to develop lesson plans that could suit both levels. In addition, I
had the opportunity to be a member of a teaching team, and to work in
the school library.
I am looking for a progressive environment, in which I can refine my
skills and gain new ideas. I am confident that I have the knowledge
and work experience needed to fill many available positions. I am a
team player, a fast learner, and a hard worker. I enjoy working with
people, and my organization and communication skills are excellent.
