The Bio
Who am I: During the summer of 1994 (ninth grade) I found myself bedridden for the entire summer due to a knee injury from cross country running. Being an athlete, I found myself going stir-crazy until my brother-in-law brought over his guitar, some beginner books, and taught me how to play four basic chords. The first song I learned was "Heart of Gold"(Neil Young). My first guitar was purchased at a flea market later on that summer, and I taught myself how to play proficiently. Since then I have moved on to writing and recording my own songs, including all of the backing vocals and music. My trademarks are my royal blue guitars and mandolin.
My Goal: After composing music and writing most of the lyrics for over 90 songs, I am pursuing my solo career as a singer-songwriter, while I teach 4th graders at Pleasant Valley School district in Pennsylvania.
I was first recognized as a performing artist in high school when I won 2nd place at the annual "Talent Show" by singing "California Dreaming" (Mamas and the Pappas). For two consecutive years, I performed at our high school's amateur "Coffee House Day," singing cover songs as well as my original compositions. I also sang the National Anthem before each high school home volleyball match during my senior year. I received the honor of opening for a prominent band out of New York called "Weston", during a benefit concert for the yearbook staff. This was held on May 14th, 1997.
My first professional performance was held on July 30, 1997, at "Prufrocks", a coffee house located in Scranton, PA. I was hired to sing for an hour, performing one cover song, "Who Will Save Your Soul" (Jewel) and five of my original songs.
My first studio experience was a trip out to Kansas City Missouri. May 20, 1999 I headed out to a studio named Blue Sky Underground to start the recording of a Demo CD: "Frozen Hearts Flaming Fire". On May 28th, 1999 and 56 hours later, seven songs were completed. My next studio experience I had was in a studio closer to home in Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania. I recorded two of my songs for a compilation CD at the Menagerie Studio. The owner of the studio and producer of the CD, Jeff Boyer, picked my song "Voices" to be number 17 on The Menagerie Studio Compilation CD. I also wrote and sang some backing vocals in two other songs found on the disc.

On October 3, 2000 I broke my right arm during a college volleyball match at East Stroudsburg University. Because of my injury I was unable to play guitar for 6 weeks. Erik Steinour, a friend from school, offered to learn all of my songs and play guitar while I sing for my shows. While we were performing together we added a drummer to the group: Bob Score.
I then drove back out to Kansas City to record my debut CD, "Gravity" at Blue Sky Underground on May 20, 2000. Three weeks later I was back home with a rough mix in my hands. The CD was due to be released in April of 2001, but due to differences in opinions, those mixes were trashed and I rerecorded the entire CD at The Menagerie Studio. Gravity was finally released on May 6, 2001 at Sarah Street Bar and Grill in Stroudsburg, PA.
