| Thinking of Becoming a Vegetarian? Before saying no, think of the animals! |
|||||||||||||
| A lot of people think about becoming a vegetarian because they love animals but then they stop and think about how much they love eating meat and how they don't think the animals on a farm are being badly treated. Think about it this way, animals on a farm are born to be food for us, plain and simple. With this in mind, do you think most farmers are thinking of treating them kindly? Many people don't know, but animals on farms are treated so badly and I'm not just talking about the living quarters for these animals (ex. The cages for chickens when they're packed in the cages so tightly with other chickens that they can't move.) PETA recently discovered pigs being severely beaten because they were crippled. They were beaten with metal bars, had their throats slashed with blood gushing from the gash and blood in their lungs as they gasp for air, had their hind legs cut off while still being fully conscious and screaming in pain, and they were also skinned alive, fully conscious. Thank God these horrible people were caught but think about how many other farm employees are doing the same thing. (For the full article on PETA, please click on the below link.) I'm sure this isn't the only pig farm or any farm for that matter that is doing this horrible act on animals. I'm sure there are plenty of other farm employees doing the same thing and don't have any regrets about it. You might be thinking "but is it really going to make a difference if I stop eating meat, what difference am I going to make in the amount of meat that I won't be eating anymore." It will in fact make a big difference in the long run. If you stop eating meat you're not going to see a difference at first, but if you explain to others why you stopped eating meat, explain in full and detail, and get others to join you thee will be a lesser demand for meat and so less animals will get killed and tortured for us to eat. A lot of people think that we NEED meat in our daily diet. This isn't true, there are lots of other ways to get protein and in actuality you'll be eating less fat which of course is better for you. Sooner or later, if we wake up the world to what is really going on behind closed doors of farms and that we don't need meat to survive, we can get everyone to turn against meat and there will be no demand at all for animals being killed. |
