Bears - Getting Killed In Our Neighborhoods
I recently saw on TV that bears are getting killed when leaving their natural habitat and entering into our neighborhoods.  It wasn't even a situation of them going after someone or attacking someone.  They simply walked out of their homeland and into our neightborhoods.  People started panicing and called authorities.

In one situation, a bear was
shot and killed by a police officer because he took it as a threat when in fact the poor bear was simply looking for food and probably confused of where he was.  The officer stated that it was the only thing that he could do.  The bear was minding his own business and not bothering anyone, simply wondering around in someone's backyard.

In another situation, one bear kept coming into one area of Pennsylvania.  Some of the people interviewed thought it was cute that he kept coming back, kind of like he enjoyed the area and liked it.  But one of the main authorities didn't like the idea of him coming back again and again.  He said that he would capture it
only one more time and that if it came back he would have no choice but to kill it.  While trying to capture it for the last time, he and his crew shot it with a tranquilizer gun while the bear was up in a tree.  The normal procedure for this is to use a net to catch bears when they fall from the trees after they're shot with the tranquilizer gun.  But this time they didn't!  The bear wound up falling to the ground after it was shot.  They took it and brought it back to the bear's natural habitat.  Basically, the bear was left for dead because of the internal injuries he suffered from the fall.  This all could have been avoided if they weren't too lazy and uncaring to use a net.  Because of their laziness, the bear suffered for a few days and eventually died.  This was an unnecessary death.

I understand that it could be very scary to come across a bear in your backyard but there's no reason to kill it when it's just innocently looking for food.  There is a proper way of capturing any kind of wild animal so that nothing has to get killed.
